Re: mxd cages, any good???

I am in the market for a cage, and just by looks, the FI looks least likely to roll up on to the tank. What do you guys think. I have never seen a cage in action so I was wondering what you guys thought.

Buy the MXD cage, It's gonna save you a ton of money and damage to your bike. FI bends motor mounts. personally i'd rather replace a part than bend my frame. go with the mxd

both major motor mounts......but the construction of the mount deversifies the weight when it hits hard so they dont break....pm mxd and he will send you picks......or me i have pics

Re: mxd cages, any good???

FI is only bolted to 1 motor mount, so all the impact hits that motor mount every time.

I'm not going to argue about which one holds up better but would you rather have a cage with a bar accross the header, a support bar inbetween the motor mounts and bolts on to 2 motor mounts (with sliders and doesn't hit your shins) or one that bolts onto only 1 motor mount and has a loop.

Re: mxd cages, any good???

deff chose the mxd over anyone else. sorry but freestyle just bends too much on the areas that always hit. 905 is too close to the stator cover and also bends too much. the mxd is like a 905 on steriods. that is how i see it. no shin knocking here. thanks mxd. you have saved me many of stators.

i have a few stator covers for extras and my boys all call me for them and i keep telling them to switch out. but the think since they got their cages for fee that they need to stick with them and keep buying stator covers from me.

Re: mxd cages, any good???

Good to see that MXD is gettin around now, **** it was just a few months ago that hardly anyone knew who MXD was. Now everyone is goin to know about them and instead of ppl buying 905's there all goin to go MXD (see it happening).

FI will stick around though just because its a "cleaner looking" cage. But if 905 wants to stay in the cage business they probably should go back to the drawing books and beef up there cages.
