how the hell do you pound a 929 tank!!!!

how the hell do you pound a 929 tank!!!!

ok i have already f!@#ed up two tanks on my 929 and got to get another one how do you guys pound them the one problem i have had i my gas cap hits the bottom of the tank can any one please help thanks

I punded mine in with a rubber mallet from the outside-->in to the center--then when I got to the gas cap, I tapped it down just a bit--my cap is REAL close to touching the inside of the tank--but not touching--As long as it fills with gas and I can close it with no leaks I'm a happy camper!

just start at the front then work back with a rubber mallet, don't take your cap off that' bad. i'll post up some pics of my 929 tank and you can see how the cap sits up a little higher, but it's that way on most bikes. just make a good lip on the back so you dont slide off then your good to go, i also have a pre=smashed 929 tank for sale it works great just needs paint! hit me up if you have any more problems.

my buddies have found that the bottom of their shoes, while wearing them and standing on the tank, has worked pretty good so far on a 954 and TLR
