Repairing Plastics

what do you guys do when some of the mounting tabs on your plastics are cracked, or completely broken off? how do you guys rig them or fix them up to get screws or bolts back in them to hold them where theyre supposed to be? any tips, advice or pics of your handiwork would be alot of help. thanks

I went to Shucks and get fiberglass cloth, resin, and hardener. I Used vice grips to hold the piece in place, mixed up the resin and hardener, put it on the cloth and let it dry. It’s nasty stuff but it holds like a rock when it dries.

that's works for sure, go to any hardware place find a kit for that or simple super glue works for little tabs, i put a 929 front fairing back together after 30mph fall it broke in 6 places looks fine now lil sanding and paint go a long way! fiberglass is the best stuff to use.

Re: Repairing Plastics

i know about the zip tie, but i dont think i could get away with them for these breaks... im missing a couple mounts for the headlight , and one of the tail section rear portions are completely cracked off where the bolt goes in to secure it... i dont mind things falling off when it drops, but while in motion, probably not a good thing
