Re: pics of FI cage damage

These posts upset me. I think every cage is pretty good. Free Style is my choice. But for me to come on here and flame 905, powers or any other cage wouldn't be right. Free Style cages are great I have been rocken them for 4 years. If your Crunchy piece breaks when you’re ridding it, man up and fix what you broke.
They are all mounted to Aluminum. Fact is properties of aluminum change after it has been stressed.

smashio.. your nuts if you lay under your bike every drop--- id rather replace a cover or weld a new mount then be stuck in a cast or get mass loads of stiches!! if you really lay under it each fall, than your a fu(kin TANK!

I'm still happy with my FI, but is there a thread about how to replace broken motormounts? I looked at mine today and I don't know how I'd begin to fix them! I'm only halfass mechanically inclined.

i'm in the market for a cage, heard alot of good things about yours, but if it's not ready to go yet, i'll prolly end up with a 905.

i have them done, but i dont really have time to update the site.

Re: pics of FI cage damage

my 900rr did that with a 905 cage. just get an 18 inch peice of 7/16 threaded rod, run it through both sides and put a lock nut on both sides, also, re-enforce those motor mount ears....it does wonders.

I'm currently in the market for my first new cage... and to be completely honest, after reading this post, MXD is crossed off my list.

I would stay "far away" from anyone who needs to blatently bash one of their best competition to further their own interests.

I'm a small business owner myself and this is obvious bad practice. Even if what was said is true, ya just don't go there (at least I don't)

Sorry MXD... not meant as a personal attack, just a neutral 3rd party point of view.
