f4i tech...cluster question (new)

alright, i checked the fuses, they were good, i pulled the access panel off of the back of the cluster and found that one of the two plugs was off inside of the gauge cluster....so...i plugged them back in, put the cover back on, plugged it back in the motorcycle and whenever i put the ground cable back on the battery the tach whips to redline then resets itself and the clock comes up @ one am.....well, whenever i turn the bike to the on position it turns itself off like it was never on...what's up???
here is the deal though....the motor is out of the bike along with all the upper stuff....(ie. tip over sensor).....is it toast or will i have to have it all back together before it'll light up???
