I was going to get a -2 for mine but Phil(Moto-Heaven) said that it was too small since they are already a 15 up front. In all seriousness stock is just fine for all around. I could do everything except engine brake scrapes before I geared it.

this is just going to be street bike so...
got my f4i geared stupidly..i just want some mint gearing for street...

You'll be fine with that. Have you ridden it stock yet? I was seriously scared to gear mine it was so sweet stock. I'm +16 now and love it! I also have a -1 just incase I need a little more engine brake. lol

i have 2 down 24 up on f4i, which i havent ridden either, i had 2 down 10 up last year...

ordered 24 up just cause was biggest could get, see what i can do it come spring...
636 i want for street bike, just sent plastics out to get fully done up so...

i remember rocking my f4i 2 down 5 up and it was sick on street...
so i wondered how the `1 down 5 up would b on 636....

 

my 636 is geared -2+5. i had the -1+5, but that wasn't cuttin' it for me but i like to rock slow **** so i went -2 up front. i like it torquy tho, so it might be different for you. -1 up front is equal to alot added to the rear, so it depends. if you're stickin' wit highway ****, i'd just add to the rear...maybe +10, but obviously, you're gonna start rockin' slow ****, so i'd take some off the front. like kyle said, stock gearing will surprise you, and the stock front sprocket is small, but i went down 2 up front anyway. i didn't go up much in the rear, so that's probably why. still like hittin' them highways, na mean?

 

yo kyle...how u like your 636? i know u ain't dissappointed. it's balanced like no other for that slow ****, right???? i won't ride (feel comfortable) on anything else, right? well nah, u can hop on a moped and scrape that sh*t, tho. i love u man

ya i was scraping highchairs on my f4i with 2 down 5 up...
i through a 10 up on there made the job alot easier...
now i got huge one for f4i

keeping 636 mint and and for highway filming etc...
just getting peoples opinion on gearing

i can ride the bikes, as for fixing or knowing anything about them, im lost

-2+5 is where it's at for me...but that's just me

 

I haven't really ridden mine on the street, hell, I haven't even got out of first gear except for practicing coasters. The 16 is just about right I think. I actually thought it was too much at first, hard to catch the idle it went so slow at 4000rpm. I just started scraping seatstanders this past weekend and you don't have to be going too fast to get it to pop back up off the bar. I also weigh about 200lbs so it should come off easier for someone lighter.

So pretty much, any gearing on the 636 is good. There's no need to go super low geared, it just doesn't need it.

That F4i with 2 and 24 should be rediculous! lol :YEAH

 

lol u know some people are gonna take that the wrong way. we all know u the man tho. i feel u on that tho. stock gearing is more than enuf...it's just personal preference after that.
