i can't bust long endos....so maybe i have no business answering this question, but i think the metzlers are the best tires.......i wouldn't change to a 208.......keep the m1...............(a buddy of mine bust out long endos with the tires he pulls from the dumpsters behind bike shops........i think it's mostly the rider)

Re: best stoppie tires?

ive run the metzlers, and I think the Michelin Pilot sport is better. those things grip in the cold, wet, snow!! (well, maybe not snow).

Check em out

Re: best stoppie tires?

I get DOT rated race tires used from track riders and from the back of bike shop dumpsters or from whoever. Like Nags said a while back, the best tire is a free tire.

Re: best stoppie tires?

metzlers suck .... burn one out till it pops and you got metal everywhere... all in your sprocket and chain wrapped up all over everything. dunlop 207's and 208's work great for me.

Re: best stoppie tires?

I used to swear by Metzler M1's, and would still recomend them. Never had any luck with the Pilots, but Joe Brown rocks em', so they must be pretty good (but he lives in South Florida, I live in Maine and never had good luck with traction when I tried the pilot) But the last tire I got was a Pirrelli Super Corsa SC2 Race, and will be buying another one! I bought mine new (I think the used ones suck) and love it! Grips everytime, and is real stable in high speed stoppies, no tank slap problems to speak of either. But everyone rides differant, what works for 1 person doesnt always work for someone else!

Havent heard good things about slicks. Very unpredictable from what I have been told. And I hate Dunlop fronts!

Re: best stoppie tires?

I'LL Dig back tires out of the dumpster, stick 10 plugs in them. but a front tire. f.u.ck. that. brand new pilot sport - im not playing when it comes to squeezing teh front brake @ high speed & worryin' about it not gripping.

my pilot sport is on the wear bars, another brand new one for next season.

Re: best stoppie tires?

pirelli blue dot, its a race compound and works in a lot of conditions, we even ran them in the rain and they hooked up. we put them on first before we even ride the bikes. streetfighterz cardwell
