steering sitdowns

I would ride out sitdowns more, because they seem to be easier on my hands, but I always seem to veer off the road. I have a hard enough struggle when im standing, but when im sitting it just seems out of the question.

What do I need to do in order to steer sitdowns? Is it easier than I think? It seems like any tilt or slant in the road, and I will turn that direction and go off the road or into oncoming traffic.

most public roads are banked outward to send the water off into gutters, sweres etc. either stay on the middle of the road, or lean in the direction you wanna go and press down on the footpeg on the side in which way you are turning. hang off a lil in that same direction too.

1st thing, the higher the wheelie, the easier it is to steer. If you aren't balanced or behind balance point it will be almost impossible. Also, the slower you are going the easier it will steer. Sitdowns you have to lean your shoulders the direction you want to go and keep your arms extended straight.

Re: steering sitdowns

alright. I just need to bring the sitdowns higher up then. I just havent really tried them much. Standups are just so easy, I feel like no even bothering with the sitdowns. BP on a sitdown kinda scares me a little, compared to standup. I will try that though, just go all out on the sitdowns again like when I was first learning.

Thanks.

Ya, once I got those standups down, Im finding I can turn them. Still not always too easy for me. Its just the sitdowns were impossible.

Still cant ride right now though... raining tons

Re: steering sitdowns

like kyle said, get them higher and also lean backwards off the bike. if you are bending your elbows into the bike so you are leaning forward that makes it hard to steer.

also, when i want to make a correction, i usually power the bike a little past the balance point and i lean the direction i want to go and backwards, so if you wanted to go left i would pick the front end a little past balance point and kinda let my body fall left and backwards then ease back onto the brake to bring it back to balance point. you just gotta continiously work it to keep a good steer going.
