Gix popping in and out of first?
Gix popping in and out of first?
I'm looking at a 2000 GSXR 750 and the bike looks great, runs great, all kinds of aftermarket goodies. The only thing is that the guy says that it pops in and out of 1st gear at low rpms. I haven't seen the bike in person, saw it on ebay and it's not selling, he's asking 3800 for it though and I have the whole winter to work on the thing.
So I'm wondering if it's the actual 1st gear, because I know that a lot of times 2nd gear will go, or if it might be something else.
I don't want to have to put a lot of money into the bike, so how much do you guys think it would cost?

OOoo, doesn't sound good, can I get a second opinion? What exactly is the shift fork? Is that like the gear dog? Something that moves it into gear and holds in then

Here's a thread from gsxr.com, I'm not sure if this is the same though though http://www.gsxr.com/showthread.php?t...ighlight=geare
Re: Gix popping in and out of first?
Yeah I'd steer clear of that bike. Don't get a gixxer man if you're gonna stunt you'll just be fixing it all the time. I guarantee you can get a nice 929 for 5k or an f4i even cheaper.
Re: Gix popping in and out of first?
If you plan on buying it here's the thing you want the bike to be tight as possible if you plan on stunting then you make it crunchy by riding. I kick myself self all the time when I bought mine from a guy who did'nt take care of it and I had to damn near be a suzuki tech. So my advice don't start a money pit you'll do that when you start droping the bike trust me.
Re: Gix popping in and out of first?
I'm actually looking to get a bike that looks pretty good, it's not going to be an all out stuntbike but I am going to put a cageon whatever I get. I'm going to be going to school down in North Carolina next year and I'm not going to bother with getting a car, just keep a bike year round, so for that reason I was to get something that looks nice but I can still wheelie around on.
I don't think I'm going to go with that ebay bike, too much work and it would just turn into a money pit. It has 12,000 on it to.
