RC51 Weelies
I am trying to learn wheelin\es on an RC51 02 model. Let me rephrase, I am jtrying to learn to pick the bike up in second. Many people say that my bike will only come up in first I found this to be untrue by accident. What is the best way to bring it up without bouncing? I have went two up on the rear due to the weight of the bike and myself. I am 280 pounds. :YEAH
Re: RC51 Weelies
that bitch will come up in 4th (clutching of course). With 2+ it will come up no problem in 2nd with no bounce. they are torquey as hell right
?and if ur not clutching LEARN IT. thats seriously the best advice i can give you. i remember when i used to power wheelie and everyone would talk about how great clutching was. i never understood it till i learned it and man, its a 100x safer and better. also just take ur time with it and listen to ur instincts. good luck Re: RC51 Weelies
That bike is cursed when it comes to getting into tank slappers when you set them down at any speed. I watched two of my buddies almost die on rc51's because they usually get into slappers at high speed even if the wheel is set down perfectly straight. One of the racers here in canada went down at 240kph because he came over a slight rise and the tire lifted and sent him into a nasty tankslapper.. So be carefull.. get a damper.
Re: RC51 Weelies
trade me the rc51 for a gsxr 1000-my bike is PERFECT in every way-163.7 hp on the dyno-full system exaust, pc3, g-pack, geared 2 down in the front, bmc race filter, and custom tuning-its MINT, and itllk wheely 1-6 without an issue-haha-Mike

Will I have to sit very far back on the seat to have it come up? I am always on the tank because I am used to having the weight on the front around the track or backroads. I have sat back on the seat and yanked it before and almost shyt myself. I got it up tonight at about 45-50 in second with no bounce and felt good. I have just picked up a PCII for 70 bucks. I will have to have it mapped cause i have the stock pipes. But running a little lean on bottom will help right.

Bro, its a twin,it should pop right up wether you clutch it or power it up.It doesnt really matter where your sittin either, thats up to you.If you slide back, then just slide back and dont fight it.
Re: RC51 Weelies
you will find that stands ups come up a ton easier than sit-downs. It feels kinda weird for a little while until you get comfortable with them, it's a little easier standing staggered, left foot on the passesnger peg and right foot covering the brake. Standing helps move your weight to the back and takes it off of the front.
Whatever you do, wear you gear!

you should be able to bounce that thing in second easily. just stand up and put your left foot on the rear peg, then get to about 6 or 7 thousand and let off and bounce the front and smack the gas at the same time. i can bounce my tl 1000r up to balance point in second faster than clutching it up. the twin makes it real easy. just my

I havent tried a standup yet it seems complicated and risky. Althouh a lot of people say that it is easier. I have thought about it and stood up on it at speed but being 6'2 it seems really awkward. In second i am getting to about 45-50 and pulling it up a little more now.
