Rock it STOCK! Works fine. Everyone tries to afro engineer some quick fix mad scientist bs. The only thing that actually works is to run an idle cable off the throttle position screw located in the front of the throttle bodies directly in the middle. I personally have no issues with the stock set up.

Nags-what did you use for a cable that threaded into the stock idle adjuster? And when are you comin up here to do some ridin?

Re: ***929 Idle fix!!***

Thats what I'm saying.. Get used to it and its fine!

I believe its a stock 900 idle cable rigged up to it and then brought down to an easier to get to location. Joe did it for me, so I dont know 100% but pretty sure

My 929 jumps al over the place if its over 2300 but fishes old 929 you could crank up to around 3g without an issue.
I dunno when I start riding again I may **** with it again but your right It ain't that big of a deal.

Re: ***929 Idle fix!!***

Well I gave my "mad scientist" idle adjust setup a run today and it sucked ***. Plus I felt like a complete *** when I rolled into my boys driveway and my revs jumped up to near redline for no apparant reason.

I messed around with the idle adjust for a bit and I think I got it to a humane setting for 12's---only time and practice will tell....

Re: ***929 Idle fix!!***

i've tried everything from teh 900rr cable to the front of the idle adjuster, taking the valve out, having my throttle bodies synced, and nothing. it just happens cause it happens. i only put my idle at 2500 and get used to being lighter on the brake. it's hard, blah blah blah, pull your nuts out and just deal with it.

some 929's have had it fixed, mine won't fix for **** so i just got used to it.

on another note, if you aren't getting it down to idle, then you have a long way to go before you worry about getting the idle steady. you need to rock back further and slow it down first, then work on the idle problem (which really isn't a problem ocne you have good throttle, brake and clutch control),.
