Re: Complete guide for learning basic wheelies the right way

First off tks 4 the gr8 advice bro! Just started powering up the front end of my '07 ZX10R in 1st gear (very aggresive I know) Feels darn good @ about 7000 RPM when I snap the throttle back. Thing is---I wanna ride em out but when the front kicks up, I close the throttle on reflex @ about 10 o'clock...of course I cover my rear brake, but I don't ever use it!! Should I stay on the throttle--just backin off a bit when I get to 10, so I could get eventually to the balance point?

Re: Complete guide for learning basic wheelies the right way

Excellent write up and advice...

I just wanted to add my to the whole wheelie thing. I ride a 06 honda 600rr and it's pretty much stock other then the yoshi-RS5. I am by no means a pro rider and have been able to wheelie this bike from the first day I brought it home from the dealer. 1st and 2nd no prob. I'll stock bikes can be wheelied regardless of size and power. IMO what it all comes down to is the size of your ***** and skill. Definitly clutchin it up is the best way to learn without looping it as you can control your throttle with less movement in your hand. I do my wheelies sitting down, but have done a few standing. I just prefer sitting for whatever reason. So, if you think your bike can't wheelie then your just not good enough or grow some bigger *****.

i didnt read all 32 pages, so im sorry if its been talked about, but im learning how to clutch in first and i think my rear suspension absorbs a lot of my launch. do i accelerate first to compress it? will bouncing solve this? should i make the suspension stiffer? if i do will that raise the rear end making it harder to launch?

Use more throttle when you pull the clutch in.

Your rear tire was probably cold / not warmed up. Shitty tires like battle axes do this. I had a battle axe and couldn't pop clutches for the first 10 minutes i got on my bike until the tire warmed up or it would just squeel and launch unexpectadly. Of course you can also just do a 10 second burn out, which always works

Re: Complete guide for learning basic wheelies the right way

hey bro. thanks for the tips.. i think that it might come in helpful.. i just got a 1995 yzf 600. i dont know if its the r, or not.. but anyway.. i was wondering if it was too heavy to stoppie and wheelie nicely? i had bad tires and chian when i got it so i just ordered some new prellies and one down and 5 up.. i think that might help.. i havent tried to hard to wheelie yet but think this might help.. what do you think? i know i should have tried b4 ordering new sprockets but didnt have time..
where can i find a cage, or good sliders.. i want to cave in the tank and put a rear left brake lever. and also get the streetfighter headlight look.. where can i find that? what can i do to lighten up the *** end? or change out the sub frame? can i put newer plastics on the bike?? i know this is alot of questions.. if you have any answers i would apprectiate it.. my email is devildog2005@live.com thanks for your time and help.. anyone with advice welcome .......
