power wheelies

i just got a 1998 zx9r. im leavin it at the dealer for the winter and im pickin it up in the spring. i was just wonderin if this bike would power wheelie in gears other than 1st (Besides bouncin it or clutchin it up). would i have to stand-up in order to do the powerwheelies? my last bike would only go up on the clutch so i just wanna know what im gettin in to before i get on.

Thanks

In a sitdown it should power up in first and second.. For standups, with a little bit of bounce, you should be able to get it up in 1st-4th.. it's all technique..

Power wheelies?

I have a 2001 ZX9, I love this bike. I can sit down and power wheelie 1st and 2nd, no problem. My bike is also stock besides a air filter, 3rd I usuall bounce it a tad and she'll come up real easy. I went from my bike to my buddy's R1, and its very twichy on power wheelie, I guess cause his bike is not a big as mine, its to nimble.

the '98 zx9 has a jet kit, muzzy exhaust and k&n air filter. would this allow it to powerwheelie in 3rd without the bounce?

not unless you lower the gears. my gsxr 1000 wont even roll on in 3rd so i doubt any ninja can.
but why you worried about powerin it up? just bounce it up. stand-ups are the way to go anyways.
