Can I make a crash cage?

i have a fzr 400 rr and i want to get into stunting so bad!

but im on a very tight budget, is there any way i can make my own crash cage?? i have access to welder and pipe bending equipment. can anyone help with what i need to do? I have attatched a picture of my bike at the moment so you can see what i have to work with....

-where to mount the cage (see pic)
-what to make it from.
-which parts to make for a noobie

Re: Can I make a crash cage?

Most 3-point cages are bolted to the swingarm pivot, front motor mount, and then both sides connect in front/under the headers. Though on your bike I'm not seeing much for a front motor mount from the pictures. May have to get a bit creative!

NO WAY MAN! This bike looks sweet. I'm not familiar with the bike by much. From what i see though. The lower engine mounts are bolted curved pieces. Unbolt those ******* and reinforce them with a ton of cross bracing. Then add a hooped part to protect the engine from the bottom left quadrant to the top right.? Hope that helps?

Never drill in a frame , don't listen to that guy, that's just plain stupid, it will end up cracking on you, if anything use those 2 front bolts and rear engine mount just make sure you reinforce the front
