need some help with the weelie
Need some advice I have an r1 and every one tells me it has a really high bal point is it still stutable and what is the best way to learn how to ride the foot brake whith out slaming down the front so hard
Re: need some help with the weelie
check out some stickies or do some searches there is a lot of information on what you want to know..
Balance point is balance point. The height of it differs according to rider weight distribution and speed. Example, BP is a lot higher when your trying to control a slow wheelie at 6 mph, whereas a highway wheelie at 60mph will be lower. As for not slamming down the front end, try to bring it up into you're wheelie and go easy on the foot brake, of coarse, but if you're in doubt or get scared and get on it a little hard, as it's coming down, get on the gas again hard, so you speed up and the front wheel slowly touches the ground. Be cautious because if you're a little high up there and slam the gas open, it could obv come up on you and you may go over. I'd rather slam the rear brake and come down hard and bust some ***** then go over and loop the bike.
I wouldn't recommend trying to learn brake control on an r1, unless you're willing to drop it, their really torquey, especially if it's fuel injected, and especially if you're in 1st or second gear.
A lot of people here would recommend a small 50 to learn balance point, throttle and brake control, or an atv. Or grab yourself a cheap stunt 600 with a cage and goodies already set up and throw that around.
but good luck
