slowin down wheelies helpp!!
slowin down wheelies helpp!!
hey everyone, im trying to learn slow wheelies and need some help. I get the whole idea of rollin slow at like 5 mph then clutchin it up to bp and using the throttle and rear brake. my problem is when i try to clutch it up goin that slow it requires a lot more rpms and when i drop the clutch the rear tire spins. sometimes i can get it up at a slow speed but once its at bp im already goin 15 mph. i have a 05 cbr 600rr with -1/+2 sprocket set up and fast wheelies are not a problem, its just the slow ones. Give me some advice please!
Re: slowin down wheelies helpp!!
does your tire have tread? let some air out of your tyre. bring it down to 20PSI so you get more contact patch. Make sure there is no loose dirt or rocks where you're practicing. Try sitting further back on the seat to put more weight over the wheel.
Re: slowin down wheelies helpp!!
Might check your body position. I had a buddy with the same problem and it was due to him hovering over the front end of the bike too much and not dropping the clutch right.
He has a '07 600rr and he can now pick them up from a dead stop and hold them pretty decent with stock gearing. So it can be done with your gearing, you just aren't doing something right.

I pick up from a dead stop or barely moving. 5 is still too fast to instantly catch idle. But can easily be done once you have brake control to slow it down. The tire pressure thing may help. But if I want to do sit down no handers, it requires a body pull too on some terrain. You can't expect the bike to do all the work. You gotta pull that bitch up sometimes. And tires are a factor too as said. Can't be runnin a hard compound and expect it to grab cold.
