06 636 sprocket help
I'm trying to setup my 636. I was wondering what would be a good place to start with gearing. I want to still be able to ride in the streets. Should I drop a tooth or 2 in the front and some in the back. I'm a newbie and was told to just go bigger in the back and not drop any in the front. Any advice is very appreciated.
I was thinking going 54t in the rear.

Re: 06 636 sprocket help
ive had 2 of those bikes and ran +7 (50t) on both of them and cant imagine needing any more gearing for it. if i only rode parking lot i might do -1 +7 but thats it. now ill let some other ppl tell you how much they love thier 80 tooth sprockets.....

+1 sdfkillz... I run a 50T on my 636, and it's barely ridable on streets.. Definitely no riding on interstates, but it a haas in the lot so like he said, go with the 50T.. It's the best gearing I've found so far...
Re: 06 636 sprocket help
+7 removes around 18% of your top speed. all. 636's are stock with 520. pm sketchy on here, he'll hook you up real nice.
