anybody clutch in first?
anybody clutch in first?
ive been trying to learn wheelies, and i started by doing power wheelies in first, then moved to clutching in second, so i tried clutching in first and it seemed effortless, and i didnt run out of rpms like a power wheelie, and its much more consistant, but everybody says theres no need. whats your take?

no need. your doing it right clutch it in 5th or 6th the higher the gear the longer the wheelies

also clutch it when u do a stopie you get the *** up higher.. good luck see u at the comps. Re: anybody clutch in first?
im not talking about lot riding, im saying on a stock bike, on the streets, everybody tells me not to clutch in first, just power it up, just wondering what you guys did
Re: anybody clutch in first?
It depends on what powerband your bike has....mine has a red one so it comes up super ez and I can power up all day long.... And run out the rpms for DAYS....I'm talkin like 80 mph in 1st gear....I just red line that byatch....but yours might be blue or yellow so ya you'll prob need to clutch the crap out of that pig!!!
Re: anybody clutch in first?

Sounds like "everybody" is giving you horrible advice. They're pretty much telling you they would rather not be in control of a wheelie. Consistent IS better! Its always a good thing if you're not running out of rpms, that means you are locked into the wheelie and could go for miles IN CONTROL. I dont get what the problem is?
Re: anybody clutch in first?
lol this is just like when i **** a girl on the first night i met her and they always say "just so u know i never do this, i hope u dont think im a ****" hahahhahah nooooooooooo i would never think that.
Re: anybody clutch in first?
I'm sorry for the sarcasim(sp) but it does seem a bit like a dumbass Q. Sounds to me like your tryin to pow pow so ya go ahead and throttle it up. If your tryin to hit b/p or idle then ya come to a stop or almost stopped and clutch the **** up.... Of course that is stated w/ the assumption that you already have rear brake control since your not a dumb *** or a new rider. If you got no brake control and you go clutch it up most likely I will see you on here looking to buy some replacement parts for your bike....good luck stunna!!!

Re: anybody clutch in first?
if you read what i was saying, im not in a lot, so im not doing idle wheelies, and i'm not clutching bp wheelies either, but im doing a lot better than i was powering em up. so i guess i answered my own question
