Re: Why can't I wheelie my 929?

put bike in 6th gear, get on highway, floor it.

Does the bike rev up and not move fast? If it does, then it's slipping. If it accelerates normally, then it's not.
Could also get going say 60mph on the freeway, and rev the bike to rev limiter and dump it into 6th gear. If the bike stays on rev limiter, the clutch is shot. If the motor's rpm's drop instantly to your wheel speed, and you accelerate normally, your clutch is fine.

+1 no reason to gear until you can control a good wheelie
no reason to "watch" rpms, just go off feel, every situation every speed every road will require you to launch your wheelie at a different rpm.

Hmm, ok, definitely give that a shot. I thought gearing would help me get it up easier.

Thanks everyone

Oh my, that's awesome. I wish I could be half as good as you. So what are you doing for rpms when you lift that thing up? When you get up into BP are you clutching?

Re: Why can't I wheelie my 929?

i put the stock idle adjuster (which sucks) to 2,500, then go slow and clutch it up hard.. slow it down, turn into the circle at a high speed and stay of the brake as much as possible. o and keep a good angle to it! for the coaster its just clutch it up, pull in before bp, let it go over then feather the brake..

929s will pull up just if you hammer on the throttle?

+1 no **** that's what I was thinking

my f4i with stock gearing would come up in 1st on throttle lol.. And a 929 has more power and is lighter! lol

It's all in the skills. I can only imagine this guy will gear his bike, and it will start to come up, but twice as violently as he ever has had it do before lol

Re: Why can't I wheelie my 929?

929 or f4i, both wheelie easy as hell. f4i doesnt have tons of power but with stock sprockets i could stand it up in second gear on the highway standing or sitting. more thorttle and blip the clutch faster, it has to be a whole lot and all the sudden. oh and cover the back brake
