F4i Problem
Have been riding the new F4i a lot lately and never really checked the oil window when I got it.... hey, don't worry it has oil but problem is too much. Now I was out riding today it's like my bike boggs up in high rpms badddd, even in a wheelie if I were to do a *** drag the power is horribly off. the bike just sounds horrible period... so tomorrow I'm changing the oil and making sure it has the right amount in it then also putting new gas in it, and hoping for the best.
What are you thoughts on what it could be? tips? etc.
cause I don't have big $$$$ to fix this, and I just bought this thing it ran great till out of no where in the middle of today I went to wheelie, and it wouldn't even come up no matter how much gas / rpms i gave it.
PS this bike is bone stock, what mods do I need to do just the clean air mod? how does that help the engine? could it be why what's happening now.. is happening?
haha. later!

Re: F4i Problem
I didn't hook up the throttle mods, the bike is bone stock. Idle is between 1200 and 1500 always and I just changed the oil and over 4qts+ came out.... dude had it WAY overfilled. I put a new filter and changed the oil and the problem is WAY better but still sounds a four wheeler going down the road... what gives? its my fault I know it I did a long rolling burnout and I bounced it off the box, and now look the bike's ******* up.
Do you think I fouled my plugs? would it make it so it CAN rev high (even off the box) but sounds weird once your in the higher rpms not smooth at alll.

the bike holds 4qt's, so 4-5qt's is perfectly fine.. I always run mine well over the top of the sight glass with the bike standing up, and the sight glass is still half full on the kick stand lol, but I do probably run a hair too much
but I'd take the gas tank off and make sure everything is hooked up properly. Could be the sensor on top or your air box, maybe your map sensor, maybe the throttle position sensor (if the bike will even run without the tps?)

Re: F4i Problem
Was told today it's running too rich... my spark plugs are all black.
Going to replace them all in the morning, think it will fix the problem?
but then I hear that my fuel pressure regulator or something along those lines could be the actual cause in the first place and be the thing thats fouling the plugs. So if I start it and the problem exists after the spark plugs, then I'll know its the fuel regulator.... does that sound like a symptom of the fuel regulator? one of my friends was telling me about it.

Re: F4i Problem
from personal experience, when the fuel pressure regulator goes out the bike will sound horrible even at idle, so cant help you there i guess...
get iridium spark plugs, not the cheap standard plugs. Also since your already gonna be down there, check all your connections like everyone else said. And go ahead and replace your air filter since your gonna have the airbox off anyways.
