think i want to stunt my 06 636..suggestions?
aight so ive been a member here long enough..think its time i finally want to do something other than my 55mph staggered stand ups..i wanna start learning to slow it down, and get a bit more serious with stunting my 06 636...i DONT want to 100% stunted out and just stay in the lots so this is why i need a few suggestions. i will still ride street 95% of the time with some highway riding and definitly some fast twisties riding...that means extreme stunt gearing and cages that scrape the ground on turns are no good....need a versatile setup.
cage wise im thinking SI since its the most low-pro/doesnt need cutting/and wont interfere with the twisty roads..good choice? from what i read it seems like SI is a quality company, just long on wait times so im going to try to find a used one.
sprocket and chain wise i could use alittle more help..right now im running just a +2 rear vortex sprocket with stock chain..its alright but i feel like if i want to slow my wheelies down i might need something alittle different...think i should i go -1+2? i think my goal for now is to learn idle wheelies or very close to it..not really sure what the common ratio is for that. i will still need something thats highway-able so keep that in mind. also could use some good places to order the sprocket/chain setup too.
i dont think theres really any need for anything else at this point...handbrake/12 bar,etc seems like overkill and im not trying to dump alot of $ that i dont have into this.
i used to stunt my quad on the daily so im not new to learning the different balance points, idle points, tricks, etc. but streetbike wise it will be. like i said before, i know the basics of wheelies and can find balance point and ride out a 55-60mph wheelie for awhile but id rather do one at 25 instead.
think she'll look good?

Re: think i want to stunt my 06 636..suggestions?
this is my old 636. im a street rider at heart, although i like to mix it up in the lots too. i ran +7 in the rear on both my 05 and 06 and its perfect. you can still rip 150mph and not too much shifting and it helps it come up alot easier for tank tricks also adds some good pull to the idle. the SI cage is a good cage and wont scrape in corners but i would now recomend the cage from myspace.com/atowncustoms as its easier to put on and off and comes with sliders as well as being a bit stronger. you will scrape a peg before youll ever hit the cage on that bike which is why i shaved my pegs down about a 1/4 inch to stop my rearsets from breaking when i dropped the bike. also the OMR subcage with some esd pegs makes a world of difference for rear peg type wheelies.

thanks alot sdf...you say you can still rip 150 with the +7 huh? wouldn't have thought that...i know you know your **** so ill take your word for it..maybe ill go with that setup..
with your si cage, did you have to cut the lower fairings? looks like you did but i could of sworn someone told me you didnt need to,,both the si and atown look real nice.
forgot to mention the omr sub with esd pegs...thatd definitly be under the list of necessary things to get

me and rich were talkin about it last weekend how at baltimore bike fest 95% of the bikes were 636's and a couple years ago f4i's were all the rave... but just give it time and they'll all see the light and the new bandwagon will be in full steam
Re: think i want to stunt my 06 636..suggestions?
I feel more comfortable on my 636 every time I ride it. Mine is an 04, but I would suggest an Si cage, a round bar or 12 bar, and 10 up. You say your plan is to ride 95% streets, but it might change to 95% lots after you get used to BP,idle etc.. as you know stunting gets addictive. Your going to have a sweet looking stunt bike, to start off with at least. Your 636 looks pretty tight.

edit: never mind, you already went

i see lots of people against the gixxer as a stunt bike? reason i was just learnin on my 750 got 3 hrs of standing n sit down wheelies on it... tho i thought it tried to stall near 12 o'clock, nothing real good but i road my longest wheelie sine getting help here..
Re: think i want to stunt my 06 636..suggestions?
i started stunting on an 04 750. good bike for the streets but for parking lot circle **** i hated that thing. ive ridden a few of the newer models and theyre ok i guess but idle still sucks on em.
