newbie question

i was reading the how to wheelie thread and i noticed they said to practice in first gear..but if i'm learning should i throttle it up or clutch it up in first gear.BTW i am riding an full stunted out f4i with a larger rear sprocket and all the goodies.please help me with this question and wouldnt it be more dangerous to clutch it up in 1st gear than in 2nd

Re: newbie question

when wanting to do slow wheelies the objective is to get it up to balance point as quick as possible that way you are already going slow when you get there so yes clutching it up in first is the best way to do a slow wheelie ..

Re: newbie question

clutch it for sure..
i found it easier to get comfortable with wheelies by clutching up in second, you don't hit bp as fast, but you're getting yourself used to the feeling, and you can slowly bring it up a little more each time until you start to feel balance point.

good luck
