Drilled rear pegs!!

Ok! I really dont have i lot of money to buy a sub-cage for my bike so i decided to drill a screw thru both of my rear pegs, do to the fact that a few time i brought it up my left rear peg flipped up on me and left me in a o-**** position! i"m asking if any one has done that before and if its kinda safe,i had not had time to try it out got to wait until the weekend no time! so what is yawls advice on that?http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...ies/cheers.gif

Re: Drilled rear pegs!!

I personally wouldnt drill through the pegs

they are aluminum so they can break fairly easy already, you'd be a lot worse off with one snapping in a wheelie then one folding up

If anything, take the peg off, and wrap it in duct tape or somthing, and mount it back up so its tight and wont fold up

Definitely don't drill it

Yea, they fold for a reason.....you will either break the mount or sub....just wrap it with some teflon tape and leave it down....

Re: Drilled rear pegs!!

below is a picture that explains why i only sell folding peg subcages
if you look close you can see that the tabs were ripped right off this subframe and that is what can happen if the pegs on your subcage are solid ...folding pegs are the way to go

Same would apply to fixed pegs. Get some new pegs
