Re: pointers on denting my tank

Hit it with a hammer.

My buddy started his dent by jumping on the tank a few times, then shaped it out with a rubber mallet.

I always start at the part closest to your nuts and start working the line that I want to be the lip, then slowly work forward from that. Make sure you leave the gas cap installed, if you don't your **** will probably leak. I just use a rubber mallet, no towel.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

Re: pointers on denting my tank

i did my last two and got leaks in both of them...if the metal starts to crease in a certain spot...stop beating at that spot...u will be jb-welding it every 2 weeks or so...i ended up taking my tank off and filling it with water, so i could weld the hole back up...it is a huuuugggeeee headache if you **** up... do the jumping thinggy first!

no worries!
