myself, and 2 of my friends have been stunting the f4i for years without an oil pickup mod. if you really want to do it, then go ahead, it cant hurt! but you really do not need too!

Re: F4i oil pickup .

unless you don´t do long burnouts on the 12 bar or alot of bar tricks you don´t need it, just run 0,8-1L more oil in it like on every other CBR and you´re fine.

I have 36k on my engine. I bought it with 15k and instantly went to stuntin. I do regular maintenence. And I do bar tricks. Just not for way long periods. And I don't do burnouts on the bar. But I do a ton of revlimit caosters all day. No oil pickup needed. But if I had the money to just throw out for one, I definitely would. It can't hurt. And I ride a few mile wheelies with no problems ever. My light hasn't ever come on besides draggin on the bar for a bit. I run my oil right to the top of the sightglass. So about a half quart or so over top line.

Re: F4i oil pickup .

i took my sump of and turned pulled the oil pick up out and turned it 180degrees!
when doin a wheelie it would put the pickup hole about 1-2inches lower meanin it is in more oil!
this mod cost me nothing so it is well worth the effort! i know a few guys over here in australia that swear by it!

Re: F4i oil pickup .

Was told about this mod, turning the oil pickup 180 degrees, but was also told you need to fabricate some type of tabbed washer to keep it in place?
Or will it stay there on its own when turned around?
Cheers.

An f4i isn't going to blow up like a GSXR if it doesn't have an oil pickup. The stuntex pickup makes the bike feel a lot smoother though.

I have some Stuntex f4i pickups in stock if anybody wants one. $79 shipped
