Question 929 idle cable

i want to change my 929 idle cable for a longer one. what should i use, a 97/98 900rr or a f2 cable? and can i just unscrew the old cable and put the new one in or is there more to it than that

Re: 929 idle cable

stock cable adjust bypass valves, so there is not that much adjustability in it.

you need to get second cable and put to the place where the throttle stop screw is(under the airbox) in the middle of the throttle body set.

before this, adjust the idle to the 1200rpm with the stock adjuster and newer touch the stock adjuster again. use just the new one.

if you use both, you loose the balance between the bypass valves and the throttle butterfly's and it runs wierd(too rich or too lean).
