636 stock gear idle

anyone who runs/ran stock gearing what did you have your idle set up to?? i kept stallin the **** out of it learnin today probably just to heavy on the brakes

also i noticed on idle i like to pull my self to the bars instead of extending my arms, is that a bad habbit?? it just felt more stable to me i guess

Re: 636 stock gear idle

I taught myself, and two other kids by learning stock gears first. seems to work for us..... because a 3500rpm idle on stock gears is fast as hell, and it seems to help (along with 10psi), with stopping ppl from wobbling side-to-side... but you gotta be gentle with the brakes.... just THINKING about it is usually enough to correct it.

Gearing it is your best bet. It makes no sence to me not to gear a lot bike.
Also....you are on the brake too much because I read the other thread about you getting brake fade from the fluid boiling, so keep that is mind too.
