Re: f4i front brake help
if you can get the wheel to lock its not in the brakes......stock f4i forks suck......use a thicker fork oil like 15 weight and they should be a little easier....alot of it is in finesse i have trouble too but others don't.....a sticky tire makes a big difference, pilot powers are great. and drop your air pressure a bit.

Re: f4i front brake help
I have changed the oil to 15w would bad fluid and old pads have anything to do with it. To me it feels like with as hard as i am pulling the brakes it should lock up but it doesn't if i have any speed built up. I can pull them with the same pressure when going slow and it comes right up.

Re: f4i front brake help
yeah i agree i was just saying.....its the oil really not the forks.
if you can't get lock up at higher speeds....yeah check your pads, flush the system, refill, and bleed properly.
most likely you shouldn't need a new master.
have someone you know who can roll stoppies really good try em on your bike and see if they have the same problem, if they don't then you know its just rider and you just need practice.
it's hard to pinpoint without looking over it.

Re: f4i front brake help
So, if you brake pull isn't very hard (or is even soft), I would check that, bleed the brakes and, what the hell, while you are at it throw some new pads on there. That is what I did and it help me out a lot! There might be issues with the forks but this will help with any problems you might have with the actual brakes.

Are your fork seals good?
If they ever blew out, and you got fork oil on your brake pads, they are RUINED
A stock f4i front end is perfectly fine, I woudl'nt change a thing tell you can roll 300+
