Re: how to get to balance point!

I use the brake to much, and they tend to overheat. But at least the brake is 2nd nature now.

I'M THERE TO, BEEN RIDING FOR TWO YEARS, BUT A NEWBIE TO STUNTING. BOUGHT ANOTHER BIKE (04 636 STUNT BIKE) ABOUT A MONTH AGO, AND I'VE BEEN GETTING BETTER , I'VE BEEN OUT 3 TIMES PRACTICING SO FAR. STILL HAVEN'T GOT THE BP YET. I'M GETTING HIGHER EVERYTIME, THE LAST TIME I WAS A HAIR FROM THE BP BUT I LET OFF LIKE A ***** EVERYTIME. NEXT TIME THE WEATHER IS NICE, I'M JUST GOING TO SAY F#%@ IT AND DO IT, IF I FALL I'M NOT GOING FAST AND THE BIKE HAS A CAGE AND 12 BAR AND SUB CAGE. I JUST NEED TO STOP BEING A *****.... I'M MAKING PROGRESS, SO I'M HAPPY ABOUT THAT :YEAH

Re: how to get to balance point!

i think what there saying is basically leanr to pop it up then you will slowly get higher get control of your bike first and get use to popping the front wheel.
I am not a bp yet but i am pretty close just need to cover my back break more diffrent people have diffrent way's which suit them plus using diffrent bike's with diffrent point's.
The way you wanna do it is upto how you feel but you need to push yourself further each time then you will know when you hit it i'm sure it will come mate just practice.
Not sure if people will agree but that's what i think so take what you want from my post and i hope some of it help's you progress in the sport man oh and grow some ball's they help to .

Re: how to get to balance point!

I learned where BP was doing the *** drag. Left foot on the floor and right foot covering the brake. I know a lot of people say not to get a 12 bar but having one helped me finally get to BP. Someone told me dont try to ride the wheelie out - just pop it up to the bar and keep doing that until you could bring it to the bar on command. From there I started applying the brake to catch it before the bar. Once I had that down then I started doing staggered wheelies which was now much easier since I was used to using the brake and I knew how far back I really had to go. Of course everyones gonna have their own way but thats what worked for me. Prior to that I was chasing pow pow's for 6 months thinking I was close but I wasnt anywhere close to where I needed to be. Just my Good luck.

Re: how to get to balance point!

When I first started practicing wheelies my friend told me "balance point is around 5-6k and it doesn't go higher". Which is in some ways true...but he left out some info and also worded it wrong. BP is when your RPM isn't increasing or decreasing. Your just holding it at a height and your RPM is just kickin it at any RPM. The way he told me made me believe that if your not at 5-6k then your not at bp. An that you have to go higher and higher and more back and more back till it drops to 5-6k. Thanks to his advice I almost crashed haha. (thank God the engine braking pulled it back down). I used to power up my 1st gear at like 7k.

Re: how to get to balance point!

WHAT WEST23 SAID . KEEP PUSHING YOURSELF AND GROW SOME ***** AND IT WILL COME. I'M WORKING BP RIGHT NOW, AND I'VE ONLY PRACTICE 4 TIMES, I WENT FROM NOT EVEN GETTING THE DAMN THING UP TO HITTING BP BUT NOT KEEPING IT UP. PRACTICE PRACTICE AND MORE PRACTICE.
