Scraping 12

Ok so I just built a 12 bar and learned touch and goes..

So far I've been to big of a bitch to commit and scrape it...

I've touch-and-go about 100 times so far, no problem.. About half the times I stalled it out when I hit the brake, the other half I rode away in a wheelie...

Anyways, I'm hitting it at around 10-15mph no more.. And I'm going waaay to slow to scrape it for a distance..

What I'm wondering is, should I try hitting it faster? Or should I hit the throttle when I'm on the bar??

I know on my 50, I just hit hte throttle to keep it scraping.. but I don't wanna kill myself on the f4ez

So what should I do? Attempt hitting it at 20-25? or keep hitting it at slow speed and try to hit the throttle when I'm on the bar??

I'm really wanting to learn to scrape it and throw sparks at 30mph+.. But I don't wanna **** myself up tryin!

Re: Scraping 12

pull in the clutch!

no more stalls and you can drag it forever.

Re: Scraping 12

when i scrape i go for it like im hitting a coaster and use less brake.. then more when i want it off the bar... then let out the clutch once it starts coming down, to bring it back up.

+1 ^^...

learn coasters

then when u wanna scrape, pull in the clutch.

otherwise, even if you're goin 50mph, u won't be able to drag it for that long (brake + engine braking = u slow down)

the smoother you are the easier it will be don't just slam it on the bar try to just place it there easy

Re: Scraping 12

Ya I can do coasters, and I'm just BARLEY hitting the bar

but I'm hitting the bar on idle, and just above idle, so once I hit, it pretty much stops

I learned first scraping plastic, scraped my plastic tail at least 200 times without completly destroying it

So I'm definitely hitting it softly..

ONly got 1 day of practice on the bar though, and never commited to hitting it at more then 10-15..

Guess I'l have to try coasting in next time and see what happens :YEAH
