DB Circles.

Ok, so I've been learning circles on my beat up TTR90, i think im doing pretty good. My position is with my right knee on the seat and my leg hanging over the fender. I've got balance point down pat on that (not on my street bike) and i can start the circles but I can't seem to keep them tight and i end up chasing the wheelie. Also i feel the need to have my foot down at all times. I think my problems are the bike is incredibly tiny for me so the suspension bottoms out and screws me up, and I'm doing them on grass which seems to make me slide out when i start going wide and then i can't hold it up. I'll put up some videos on youtube later tonight. So until then any ideas are appreciated.

Re: DB Circles.

ok, first of all, your size doesn't mean ****. get that out fo yuor head now or it'll **** you up forever.

second, grass is HORRIBLE for circles, get on pavement, use street tires or burn your knobbies down so it's smooth on the top and sides.

third, the basics of a circle are this.

speed up, or infront of BP, and the circle gets widers and straighten's out

slow down, or go behind BP, and the circle gets smaller and the bike falls in.

so, if your chasing the wheelie, and the bike is straightening out, push yourself farther behind BP.

practice, you'll get it.

Thanks for your help, another question i have is my rear brake on it sucks, it doesn't engage until very late and it is either all or nothing then. I know it needs new pads but is there anything else that will fix it? Also ill be making a foothold coming off the back so that i can actually stay in the circle longer. But again thanks for the help, any more will be awesome

Also, I can't seem to pull the bike up in second unless standing on the tail or i bounce it a lot, when i pull it up in 1st (no clutch so i can't shift) it winds out in about a second if i chase, it is even worse and winds out faster if on pavement. If i go down 1 or 2 in the back will i still be able to easily pull it up?

Re: DB Circles.

dude if you can't wheelie in second on a TTR90, you should work on that before you try circles. go to www.fiddylife.com and read the tips and how to's on there. the principals behind wheelying a 50 and a 90 are the same.

BTW, my bike is a piece of ****, needs a new top end, and its re-geared, which i wish i never did...So if you please you can come to maryland and teach me how to do it on my crapped out no power bike, Plus from what i understand from stunt riders, you only need more gears for high speed wheelie, which im not trying to do...im trying slow speed...so why would i need to learn in second...which i am working on as a side project.....Not trying to be an *******, though i may sound like it...and the site isn't letting me register Just to let ya know

don't regear, you don't need it, and you won't feel the difference.

it only winds out cause your out of BP, concentrate more on staying in BP.

if you tihnk TTr90 is gutless, ride a fiddy. power doesn't mean anything, just practice and you'll get it, the only quick way to getting good is lots of practice

Yea, I'm basically chilling at balance now on grass, and i just try to speed it up and i end up winding it out. But i'm afraid of balance point on pavement cause i dont wear a lid on my db cause i only have a streetbike helmet, so i end up chasing. But thanks

Will the new shoes fix my brake problem?
