Re: tank

It can be done.. just like any other.. patience... R6 tanks have nice size crease and do just fine.. just decide how you want it dented.. see if the neck has to be cut out of it, Then start at the cap with a phone book over it, or shop manual, get the cap started down and work away from it.. just make sure and go slow and plan the dent out first... just my 2 cents though... if it's your first dent you'll screw it up a lil bit prolly... at least crack the paint...

Re: tank

As mentioned above, starting with a plan is a must. If you go in hammer blazing, you're gonna dent the **** out of the tank, probably fold the metal, and possibly dent it in to the point you can't get gas in it. The shop manual over the cap, again, as mentioned above, is a smart move. After that be sure you get on it with a dead blow hammer. Using a metal claw or ball peen will destroy the tank and not facilitate a good or useful dent. Start from the cap and work your way out evenly.
