well i think i can make it work with my cap and if not i will butcher mine and weld in the part thats bent on yours but if not then i will at least have a tank to use while mine is getting painted because even if i have to stck some thing in the hole i will just to get by

 

i dont know if u could weld aluminum at the bend and sand it down to at least to level it around the lip. anyway im sure that u'll make it work ur intelligence in this subject is really above the standard

i was actually thinking of cutting a circle around the complete filler hole about an inch out side of where the gas cap bolts on and then welding in mine ,,,,

 

that would work too i knew u found the way. my hand is not precise ill mess it up for sure..

 

i have found the trick with welding sheet metal is to weld a little at a time and let it cool so it doesn't warp

Tonite was my first shot at turning and flipping my clipons. Im going 100% off of what I have read. All I have to do now is drill new holes for the controls. Something just doesnt seem rite. Do I get longer bolts for the under side of the tripple? The gap can be seen in the pictures. It doesnt make sence that just the pinch bolts for the clipons will hold up. Does this look rite?

 

the pinch bolts are all i use to hold them in place they are strong as hell trust me

 

and be carefull drilling the holes you only get one shot so make sure they are in the right spot before you drill them and only make the hole only as deep as it needs to be don't over do it because you can always make them deeper but you can't make them less deep.....lol

 

Makes sence Pinch bolts it is. I'll up my life insurance plan in the morning.
