more f4i problems

i read through the whole sticky forum on tip over sensors but my problem hasn't been helped.

All I did was disconnect the whole wiring harness to the headlights where I already had the tip sensor disconnected. I jumped the wires at the main harness for the tip sensor and now the bike won't start. The fuel cut relay just clicks when you turn the key on. Even when I hooked the harness back up the way I had it before it just clicks?????

Anyone have the same issue or advice????

Re: more f4i problems

according to the service manual the main harness wire colors for the bank sensor are the same color. the fucked up thing is that even when we plugged the front harness back in it still does the same thing. all fuses are good and the fuel cut relay is good. That is the relay that just keeps clicking when I turn the key on. It won't turn over or start or anything

Re: more f4i problems

you have to bypass it, should be 4 wires, 1 signal in, 1 signal out 1 constant in, and 1 ground, just jump the constant in and the signal out, and it should start, manual should say which wire is which

Re: more f4i problems

update:

both the fuel cut relay and engine stop relay check out good. I tried to bypass the fuel cut relay and it still did nothing. Fuel pump does not prime from turning key on but checks out good hooked to strait power. Also there is power to the harness at the fuel pump connection for a few seconds just like the service manual says.

still the fuel cut relay just clicks a bunch of times when key is turned on. When I take the jumper out for the bank angle sensor it stops clicking.

Re: more f4i problems

Anyone reading this if you have a similiar issue buy a new battery first thing. The battery in the f4i that we were having problems with checked out fine even after bringing it to the shop and placing it on one of their high $ testers. They did say that the YTZ10S batt is a hunk of **** and they just go bad constantly.

New batt = good running bike

Re: more f4i problems

dang, you beat me to it. i was just going to say that it's the battery. anytime it clicks when trying to start it and the relays are good, you aren't getting the current to turn anything over.

glad you got it fixed.
