Cage

Hi, have got to a point were I keep braking my oil tank and clutch/brake/brake leavers, so decided to built a cage, but Since its a 85ī Yamaha XT , they donīt have any cages to puy so I hoped maybe somebody could advice how it would be the strongest and how should I fit it, I would like to bolt it not welt to the frame. So a cage for the motor and subframe also needs some reinforcements and the oil tank keeps hiting the ground.
A few pics.

Thanks, Andre

Re: Cage

Hmmmmm..

I really would love to help you- its realy hard to build a cage for soemthing u dont know the dimensions on.. etc.. like where some good engine mounts etc to put it

Do you have access to a welder? and some steal

You can build anything.. My buddy is really good at building **** (12 bars, subframes)

You can do it..I almost guarentee your not going to find one..

Let me know if u can find a welder, some steel

i can tell you what steel to get etc.. and you can go for there..

for a little money my buddy could build you one but it would be really hard to make it perfect to ur bike without it being here.. but you could get someone to fabricate it so it fits you nice

let me know whats up ill try to help you out best i can over the net

Re: Cage

thanks man, I have the welder and going to buy some steel tubes, but the hardest part is the shape, how and from what point to other and how would it be stronger or more practical. Also the what steel to get would come very useful, havenīt yet looked for something specialy for a cage.
