if you are sitting on the bike, turn the adjuster so the cable angles toward the front of the bike(away from the bars) for easier setting. i wasnt sure what direction you were talking about or what way you were lookng at when you posted. hopei didnt confuse you.

I'm assuming you have the MSR raptor...with 3 different holes to choose from (to put the end of the clutch cable into) You want to put it in the Hole, That is closest to the bar. If you're not sure ...try it all 3 ways and "feel" for yourself , the differences .
