Stompgrip worth the money?? + tank dent fix

I wrecked a pair or jeans in under a day with skate grip tape stuff, so I'm looking for other options.. is stompgrip any good for the tank? its really expensive in the UK, looking at £35 which is about $70 is it worth the ££$$$ ? or any equally good but cheaper options?

Also, I need some help sorting my tank, I don't know if I can get mine how I want it without having to replace the tank? its too shallow and I slip off wayy too easily.

I've put a pic of mine on... anyone got any advice how I can make this deeper/better without wrecking it? Should I start at the cap again and work it out and deeper... I'd be okay starting afresh, but not sure how to "save" this tank which was done over a year ago when I first started is it savable or will it just end up creasing and splitting?

Try to get some hydro-turf. Like they put on jetskis. You only need a little piece and you can probably get some scrap at a local jet ski shop or buy some off ebay like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TIGER...spagenameZWDVW and do 3 or 4 bikes with it.
Or get a surfboard stomp pad like this

http://cgi.ebay.com/Poorboy-SkyhookT...ayphotohosting

you would never come off the back with that thing on there!

your dent looks fine to me you just need some traction.

Re: Stompgrip worth the money?? + tank dent fix

very small light wacks with a rubber hammer all around the rear part of the dent working all the way from one side to the other very slowly and making small changes in the dent should work just don't try to do it all at once be patient and just work it slowly ....

+1 on the surf stuff alot of people use that around here and it comes sticky so no spray glue needed just clean your tank good before you apply it make sure there is no gas or oil or wax on the tank

I bought that **** and it was like no grip at all. I threw it away because it didnt have any good grip compared to standard griptape.

Might have to do with that your tank is better dented then mine, then you dont need as much grip to hold on... Hell I fell off doing spreader circles with griptape on the tank... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfMo1bLWUHI

try tapping the tank on the black line w/ a ball peen hammer. Hit it at a backwards angle as opposed to downward. Take LOTS of light taps.

I think stomp grip sucks ***, hit holds awsome, but looses its adhesive very fast, especialy if you do frogs.

I use jet ski foot grip, then I added grip tape coated w/ rubber bedlinner at the front to keep the jet ski stuff from coming loose there.

Cheers for the advice, I'll try and get it a bit deeper.. I got some of that surf board grip stuff , I tried it before and didnt think much to it and it didnt stick to the tank well.. I might try it again, but it didnt seem to offer much grip really...
ill try it out and see how it goes

Anyone use this stuff?

If so does it rip your trousers (pants) ? its a soft material and it is pretty damn grippy.. thinking this might be a cheaper alternative.

Yeah thats the stuff, and usually sold in small amounts for car dashs to put stuf on without slipping all over the place.

Someone I know has put it on his tank and grip filled it all on, I gotta ask him what he thinks of it actually if I can get hold of him...

maybe some double sided tape? might have to replace it often but should hold pretty good?
