Question f4i problem

im new to sportbikes and i bought an 01 f4i. its supposedly all stock. ive been riding it a bit and now i want to try stunting. ive tried dropping the clutch in 1st at like almost 10,000 RPM going (20 MPH) and it just jolts a bit and then starts picking up speed (with the front tire on the ground). am i doing something wrong? or does it sound like an engine problem

Re: f4i problem

Um. Maybe your doing something wrong but if it's your clutch. Go down a road shift into 5 or 6th gear and pin it. Hold it open. If your rpms rise and your speed doesn't it's your clutch. What are you doing for clutching it? You have to time everything just right or it won't work like you want it to.

Re: f4i problem

going about 20 mph i pull the clutch in keeping the throttle open a bit, the rpms slowly start to raise, as they hit about 10000 rpms i drop the clutch (while the throttle is still open) and the bike just lurches forward and then starts to speed up. there doesnt seem like there is enough torque to lift the wheel or something?

Please read the sticky on how to wheelie. Also have your bike looked at by someone who knows what there talking about ( a stunter or mechanic )

Re: f4i problem

if your bike doesn't have a clutch that is serverly slipping (which you would probably notice while just riding and getting on the throttle) than its your technique.....My F4i is stock gearing and I have no problem getting it up from a stand still.....

Re: f4i problem

when the clutch is in should the rpms being rising really fast before i dump the clutch?

cuz i wasnt revin it fast at first but instead just slowly got to a certain rpm and then dumped the clutch at the same time as i laid on the throttle more

Re: f4i problem

In NYC right? Shitty. Why do all stunters in Ny have to be spread out. I was hoping Glens Falls.
