slow wheelies
slow wheelies
trying to learn slow wheelies but having trouble getting it up.i thought it was because i had the stock sprocket on it but im sure its no just that.any tips u guys can give me
Re: slow wheelies
Stock sprockets are the best to learn on.. im rollin idle on stock.only been riding for a month. kick it up to about 3,200 RPM's and youll be golden. Just grow big *****. get stoned before you ride..
Re: slow wheelies
haha no no no.. You adjust the idle up to 3200.. what you rev it to you'll have to find out on your own.. just gas the **** out of it and slip the clutch out. Youll feel it. heres a vid I made yesterday. im a noob to so its just basic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRGT-E-8Wcs
Re: slow wheelies
Oh yeah buddy.. If you turn it up and listen about 50 yards into the good ones im rollin on the idle.. Just using the brake.. last time out I was doin it with the hand brake with one foot on the seat. next time Ill be rockin SS !
Re: slow wheelies
They shouldnt be..
He asked about learning slow wheelies and poppin it up. He's no were near learning idle. And he's on stock sprockets. It would be a bitch learning IDLE wheelies on stock sprockets, slow wheelies and regular wheelies, ok.
Just clutch it up in 1st and use the gas/brake to keep it at BP or to slow it down. If you dont have the brake on lock then practice using the brake to bring you down.

Re: slow wheelies
I agree, as long as you have good brake control.
Maybe I should have asked him first but, my interpretation of his question was slow wheelies. Slow W you don't need your idle adjusted.
But I see how he might have only meant needing to clutch and gas harder to raise the bike faster on stock sprockets.

Re: slow wheelies
The only thing is if you don’t turn up the idle and you are riding the break to hard and not giving it enough gas it will stall, and what happens after that is not good. Here is the result of what happens. I was doing the wheelie with my foot in the backseat and it stalled. because it was going to slow the dent is from my knee OUCH
Re: slow wheelies
Damn you mangled your tank dude.. that sucks. I hit hit pretty hard runnin out of gas once but dint do any damage. turning your idle up high works for any slow wheelie. if your goin 25 or 10. on a stock 1200 idle the bikes engine brake is crazy.. turn it up and its supper smooth. I think that should be the first thing anyone does before ever doing a wheelie. Helped me bigtime.

. Listen to the clues. If you want to test it out, ride along with your idle up on two wheels and make it stall with just the rear brake, then you will know what it sounds like right before and you can take the proper steps should that happen in a wheelie. Re: slow wheelies
I don't know what the deal is with everyone's bikes (although yours is a carbed dirtbike which explains it for you). My F4i won't stall until I am at nearly a dead stop straight up and down on the brake
