If you cant keep it up you're not high enough. Pop it up and keep going back to you really feel like you're going to flip then hit the brakes alittle. You'll get it.

Re: How to wheelie a dirt bike

If you can't keep it up, you're not high enough. The whole point is that once you are at balance point, you are no longer accelerating (or increasing RPMs). At balance point the bike will feel real light.

Are you just learning to wheelie? Or just on a dirtbike?

Also, if you're on a 4-stroke, you'll generally have a ton of engine brake.

I know its gay but I learned with both feet down on my XR100. Then once I got better added foot to the brake then both feet. Go from almost a dead stop. 2 Strokes suck to learn on

Re: How to wheelie a dirt bike

you have any videos? when i was learning on my dirtbike videos helped a lot.. do a wheelie you think is high then look on the video.. or post it up.. it took me like 6-7 days to catch bp and ride it on my dirtbike.. just started doing circles with a training wheel hahaha..

Re: How to wheelie a dirt bike

2 strokes arnt bad you just have to stay outta the power ban...a 125 can be wheelied slower than a 250/450 4 stroke.....plus when they stall they wont throw you over the bars..

Re: How to wheelie a dirt bike

takes practice, i have been into doing wheelies for about 7 days and i was riding 3-5 hours a day just trying to do wheelies. Now i finialy have reached the balance point with having my left leg on the seet. If i were you i would learn on a bicylce first, one with decent brakes so you can use the back brake, and get it through your head that you need to use the back brake. then when you get on the bike and you finaly reach the bp and go past it you will automaticly use the rear brake....well if you use it when your trying to get high helps to, so your used to the rear brake. well thats the way is was for me...so yeah, practice and dont really worry about falling off the back...it doesnt really hurt that much.
