making gsxr into stuntbike for a beginner

I am going to start making my bike into a stuntbike. The list of things I am planning on doing are as follows.

Stuntex oil pickup
idle adjuster off an 00 gsxr
disable tipover sensor
crash cage

Then once I progress

Hand brake
spocket change
dent the tank

Does this seem like the right way to go or not. Also will I need to reinforce my frame now or not. If so where should I gusset it to make it hold up. I already have the bike and its free and clear so I would rather use it has my first bike and then step up to something better later.

what year gsxr?? have you done any wheelies on it??

i got a sprocket for you... if your going to stunt i advise getting this sprocket...

i think its a 55 or 56 tooth..

good to start out on..

i might have a 12 bar as well.
same with a crash cage.

55-60T sproket, cage , stuntex , idle ajuster... all you need

I rock 55t rear and 2down up front for streets/lots on my 05 750.

Re: making gsxr into stuntbike for a beginner

how worried about the frame cracking should I be. I am just a beginner so I won't be doing anything on it for a while except wheelies and just the regular ones until I can get the hang of them. or does my beginner status mean I will be harder on the frame because I don't know what I am doing yet.

take the fairings off first, get a cage then do a million wheelies until you have brake and throttle control go 10 up in the back and your good to go

That subframe is ****! Well not really the subframe but the mounting tabs, especially the '01-03!! Its seriously a big headache. Plus the rearsets to the frame brake easy as hell which suck to weld. The passenger pegs are like tooth picks compared to other bikes. Gsxr's, in my opinion, are not beginner stunt bikes cause they require a lot of work when things break. But the bike is duable.

Will agree on this ^^^^

Broke the bit of the frame where the rearset mounts on. Subframe mounts snap easily, run a brace bar from the pillion peg mounts to the rearsets (worked for me)

Loved the bike, but glad I moved to Honda.

Re: making gsxr into stuntbike for a beginner

the one tab on my subframe bent back after i laid it down... everything else has been holding up pretty well on my bike...

if you want to do stoppies a gpr stabilizer would be a good investment to make

What will the subcage do to protect the frame tabs?? Not talking bad about OMR, he has a great product which I hope to get soon but it will do nada for the tabs.
Gsxr subframe: mounts to piece of aluminum sticking outside the frame. Very weak. Plus the subframe mounts are weak. weak weak weak.
F4i, 636, etc, subframe: mounts to the aluminum within the frame. Very strong.

If you have a local welder who will work for beer, bundles of cash lying around, or can weld yourself, then do it.

Re: making gsxr into stuntbike for a beginner

yes the subframes are ****, but im talking about the passenger pegs, when you brace those together its alot more solid, like my stock passenger peg probably broke because it gave and gave till the stress finally broke the tab. i fixed mine and made a ghetto subcage and the pegs are now solid(no more flex).

Re: making gsxr into stuntbike for a beginner

learn on stock gearing first.... but get a cage, oil pick up and disable tip sensor first
