Capturing Video Footage
Hey all,
did a quick search but couldn't find what i was looking for
Just wonder how you guys get vids up on you tube,
i've got a mini dv camcorder, with a usb docking station so it should be easy, but i've lost the docking station
Just wondering how you all get your vids ono your computers, is there a simple way to do it?

Re: Capturing Video Footage
wich format is the cam? MiniDV tapes or what?
you got any movie making software?
how powerful is your pc?
Uploading the vids on Youtube is the easiest part. you register, upload and period.
you first have to understand how to transfer footage to your PC.

Re: Capturing Video Footage
Get an internal ( or external ) Firewire board to collect data,
and proceed for installation.
Firewire boards usually come with bundled video editing software ( basic stuff, but it works)
or just use the stock Windows Movie Maker.
You have it on your PC by default, and it's something you can start to work with.
Whatever software you use,
set it on the kind of camera you have ( brand/model )
that way your PC may even be able to remotely control the camera.
Plug it all togheter, switch it up, and use your software to download
the resulting AVI file to your hard disk.
Editing is on the 2nd part of this tutorial.
