Round bar looks better and is safer, in my opinion... but I think the 12 bar is more functional and in its own sense--safer in some ways too. I'd hate to have my foot in tight round bar and the bike come down suddenly for whatever reason and me not be able to get my foot out, but I'd also hate to get hit in the head with the corner of a 12 bar.

I don't hink I would want to put a bad on a newer 636.....especially after seeing the subframe with the tail pulled off.....weird, skinny, super brittle looking subframe. I would want to reinforce the hell outta it before I would consider it.

The exhaust seems to work fine for just scraping, and bar tricks aren't too popluar anymore, plus you can get replacement stock pipes from www.d2cycles.com for pretty cheap.

I wonder if the reason it doesn't get stuck, is because you can't get our foot all the way in? Just enough toe in to get enough support and that's it? I have a spare passenger seat I'm about to cut but not sure how big to cut it... most say as big as possible...

a 4x4 or 6x6 hole would work fine i would think. i doubt you need a hole too big. if youre going to do that, why not just take the seat off?

I don't like the idea of cutting the passenger seat. I guess it's perfectly effective, but looks sort of ragged, you know?

I wish there was a compromise...
