how is it the best mod you've ever done? if it's doing it's job you shouldn't notice a difference. i put it in my gixxer and i didn't notice **** so i didn't do it on my f4i.

well i have a gixxer an 05 and have a pickup in that i really didnt notice anything on that bike, but on the f4i it made a huge difference. the f4i pulls down low so much better and doesnt tend to stall out and runs smoother in 12 oclock wheelies u have to do it to see plus the f4i can live on the limiter with this mod just ask some of the socal stranglers Tony Kendall and Mikey D, its definitly money well spent.

fuuuuuuuuck, i was lookin at the headers today and they looks pretty impossible to take off without taking off the radiator first.

here are the steps i'm gonna take...(correct me if i'm wrong)

drain oil
take off filter
take off radiator
take off headers and exhaust
put bike on 12
take off pan
install pickup
put on headers
put on radiator
install filter
add 3.5qrts of oil (wrong/right)

YOU DONT HAVE TO TAKE OFF THE RADIATOR. UNBOLTING THE BOTTOM BRACKET AND LOOSENING THE TOP BOLT WILL ALLOW YOU TO PULL THE RADIATOR FORWARD ENOUGH TO GET THE HEADER OFF. IT ONLY LOOKS CHALLENGING, ONCE YOU GET STARTED EVERYTHING IS PRETTY SELF EXPLANATORY. YOUR LIST LOOKS GOOD THOUGH.

ya, just put the bike on it's side. worked fine for me. that way you don't destroy the bike if it tips over.

also, i use 4 qts in my f4i and it seems to work fine.

Re: to those with f4i, oil pickup, and 905

okay so after a few hours now...

the radiator is off
the headers are off
my 905 piece that goes under is bent.(long story)
i've got coolant and oil all over me.
all 11 bolts for the oil pan are off

...but the oil pan won't come off!

i've looked through the service manual too, and according to that, the 11 bolts SHOULD open it...

am i missing something?

Might have to shimmy something in there and pry it open

Tap The Side Of The Pan Lightly And It Will Pop Off, Double Check That There Is Not A Bolt Your Missing.

Re: to those with f4i, oil pickup, and 905

FINALLY!

i was pushing down with a hammer to try any squeez a screw driver into the opening...right when i was about to put in the screw driver, the oil plan just dropped down.... :YEAH

so what ive done so far...

1. pulled out and flipped the "pickup thingy" 180°
2. took off the O-RING
3. put the METAL GASKET on and bend the tab accordingly

so the order from bottom to top is:
1. PICKUP
2. METAL GASKET
3. METAL PLATE
4. O-RING

btw, you were right MR RYAN SMITH, the thing is ****** easy once you get the pan open.

now the problem is that on the METAL PLATE, there is a little cut for the old/stock TAB, but there ISNT a cut for the new "METAL GASKET TAB"....but it is pretty easy to actually make a new cut.

i just want to verify this with someone before actually making the cut. RYAN if you can verify this, itd be great.

here is a pic i just took..and as you can, the pickup does not perfectly fit into the half-moon...but the 2nd cut should let it go right into place?

Re: to those with f4i, oil pickup, and 905

or wait, maybe i got the order wrong?

becaz if i change the order from bottom to top to:
1. PICKUP
2. METAL PLATE
3. METAL GASKET
4. O-RING

...then the tab would fall on top of the plate and there wouldn't be need for a 2nd slit/cut

wrong/right?
