installing oil pickups

installing oil pickups

so i'm lookin to get a oil pickup soon...

i would assume that you'd hav to open the oil pan? if not, how does it install?

how hard is it?

easy to do on a gixxr6
it's self explanitory when u drop the oil pan on a gxxr.

Takes About 1 1/2 Hrs. Take Off The Exhaust, Drop The Pan, Flip Stock Setup 180 With Provided Hardware, Clean And Re-install.

ok, i just recieved my pickup today

i had never seen one before....it looks like i got the wrong part?!

what i got looks like a license plate frame.

can someone plz post instructions?

here are some pics: (this is the only piece that i got)

found these on stuntstop.com, are they the "right" instructions?

Remove your oil pan.
Take off your existing pickup.
Install the metal ring tab.
Put your pickup back on but spin it 180 degrees. Make sure you reuse your old seal, or get a new one.
Bend the tab to keep the pickup from turning.
Install the metal gasket ring. This creates a oil build up in the pan where the pickup is.
Put your oil pan back on and start scraping

Looks like the pick up for an f4i minus a part, that got bent to ****!

put it undernieth a bunch of heavy books it should straighten out fine but your still missing one part

going to install mine tonight, take off the pick up install smaller metal gasket, and keep the o ring and than put pick up back on spin 180, and bend tab to keep in place, its that simple right??????? all the rest is a no brainer
