Staggered question

When popping up the front standing up, I have a really bad habit of twisting the bars to the side as it comes up. I'm guessing that maybe I'm being a puss and not giving it enough gas when i clutch it to have it come up smoothly and instantly so i'm pulling on the bars a bit, but are there any techniques you guys used to help keep that front wheel straight. the stock dampener on my gsxr-750 sucks some serious *****. it doesnt even seem to resists the movement...

Re: Staggered question

i can't pull a decent wheelie myself so i'm no pro but what i would suggest would be to gas it more so it comes up higher...because i had the same problem with staggered when i started learning standups, the bike would come up a little bit and then land crooked....but i noticed that if you get up pretty higher that just a "little bit" then, you usually get a better landing.

if i was u i'd invest in a GPR stabalizer...its got a anti-tank slapper mechanism. those things are scary as ****.

Re: Staggered question

I'm not sure I understand what the problem is.....are u unable to keep the wheel strait while doing a wheelie and then coming down it's not strait?? or are you turning it as you clutch it and it makes your bike go one way or the other once your wheeliing?

Bingo! I'm pretty sure I just need to give it more gas when clutching it. I will have to try it. I don't give it enough gas to get the wheel up higher so I think I subconciously compensate by pulling on the bars. I know it will make no difference doing this but I can't seem to shake it

I just recently starting doing wheelies again after a year break. I couldn't resists on my new GSX-R 750. My old bike was an 04' f4i, but I only did sitdowns and could never hit balance point consistently. I'm just learning all over again except trying staggered this time.
