Touching up a tank dent

Okay, bit the bullet and did a full dent on the 636 tank, ya well it looks like **** right now mainly cuz there's a few creases in it and some holes and cracks.

So I wanna smooth this thing out, first off is patching the holes.. what is a suitable method, using jb weld?

2nd thing would be using body filler, what works well? Bondo?

Thanks.

thanks, I'm assuming it would not be a smart idea to use bondo below freezing temperatures? (bike is outside, winter)

thanks, jb welding is the plan, can't do the bondo in the house so I'm forced to wait untill it's warmed up to smooth it out.

well it's -14 right now lol! no worries, I'm gonna pick up another tank anyways as I need one for long distance rides. probably do a cut and weld job on it anyways.

Re: Touching up a tank dent

regular JB weld won't hold up very long. gas will eat through it. then through the Bondo.

get a Gas Tank Repair kit, or empty it and have it welded.
