Peg reinforcement? (snapped a peg bolt yesterday)
So, after several endos and a couple highway wheelies, we get to our "Spot". On my second wheelie, the peg bolt shears. After reassuring myself that there wasn't **** in my pants, I got to looking at the situation. The bolt sheared right where the threads start inside the aluminum bracket that the peg actually mounts to. That bolt is TINY! It amazes me that they would use such a small bolt, but then again, they weren't designing it for a 230 pound man to jump around on. My question is this......What do you do to prevent this from happening? What is the strongest peg/rear-set combination?
Good news is.........I didn't go down!:YEAH

Did the same thing on my R1 one time and ran over my foot but still saved it.
The R1 peg bolts are known for breaking.
I used to get on the r1-forums.com and people on there said to replace the bolt with a grade "8" bolt.
I tried it and rode hard about another 8 months with no problems.
Try that if you don't wanna spend the money on rearsets
