Finding a place to practice

I'm just starting out stunting and want to find a safe place to practice both for me and from the popos. How do you guys go about it. Just empty parking lots in secluded areas more or less. I know technically you need written permission. Is it worth jumping through those whoops?

Ride and drive your area or areas you are willing to travel to, search out good lots or dead end back roads. Once you find a place you can try going there after hours to ride and see how that goes. You can always approach the unit owners. Industrial areas are the best. If someone asks you to leave, DON"T BE AN ***, just apologize and leave, the end. There are plenty of places to ride, just gotta' put some pavement pounding in to find good ones, it's like searching for a job. Good luck, and respect everyone you come in contact with, they will think your a punk, so prove them wrong by being polite.

Also, keep the spot on the low, just you and maybe a few other bikes, a crowd shows up and its gone for sure......

The 2 words you should REALLY keep in mind are: INDUSTRIAL AREA

Find somewhere that is closed in the evenings and weekends and only ride when no one is around. DO NOT tell 88230838 people about your spot, and don't do burnouts all over the place or throw trash.

Everyone makes valid points and actually obtaining permission is very difficult. Police are only going to cite you if you are on a roadway (even if it is a back dead end street). The best is industrial as stated previously because residents hear the noise and call PD.
Good Luck and keep the place quiet and NO Burn Outs!

Re: Finding a place to practice

Thanks no need for burn outs the ride there will get the tires plenty warm. If I am going to be getting a custom cage then there is deff no room to be wasting tires in the budget.

I think there are a few good industrial areas in my neighborhood. Have to check em out I've been doing an 80 mile commute three 4 days in a row so no real energy to do an extra ride out anywhere.

Im not in touch with the local stunt group yet so no visitors. Just getting the basics down for now anyway.

Re: Finding a place to practice

check out new construction developments too (industrial are best)... Just found one the other day with fresh blacktop and fenced off, but easy to get a bike in. No way to really see it from the main road too... too bad I can't tell anyone other than the guys I ride with, so looks like only around 5 people will ever know

Re: Finding a place to practice

It seems everyone on this thread gave good advice for the most part. The only thing i can try to add, is maybe find a lot that is " available for lease '' keep searching those and some are bound to be abandon.
