need help with slow wheelies

ok, so i picked up another sportbike last week, been without one for about 6 months, but i did a ton of dirtbike and quad wheelies in that time so im better on a sportbike now than i was, yesterday and today ive been getting to the balance point for the first time ever on a sportbike, its feels good to, lol, but now i gotta figure out how to slow em down, cant seem to get to balance point in first only second, i just accelerate too much too quick in first, any ideas on how to slow em down?, thanks

the higher you pick up the front the slower you can go. if your picking up alot of speed on the wheelie your not at the bp yet.

alot of it is also engine braking..higher revs the more it pulls the bike down when you hit bp you cant just let off the throttle and it stay there you have to be steady and smooth with the gas..and remmber..BACK BRAKE!!!!!to save you from digging pavment out of your *** :YEAH the faster you clutch it up the better....if your in a wheelie and want to slow it down...bring it back..you will feel how the bike kida slows down once you get a little past bp ride the back brake when you are satisfied with you speed hit bp and chill good luck man keep us updated

whatever you feel comfortable with. I was comfortable slowing em down with sitdowns, but it was easier to catch idle with standups. Others i ride with prefer standups all day. Whatever floats your boat.....or bike. Slip the clutch in 1st gear going around 15mph and try to keep it under 30mph. Each practice try to increase your height then one day you'll slow em down. Practice practice practice. Dont just cover the rear brake, you gotta actually use it before you can USE IT. Ya feel.
